Are you or will you be a full-time student in the 2019-2020 school year? Are you enrolled in an accredited school or program within the US and studying to become a physician, dentist, nurse practitioner, nurse midwife or physician assistant? You may be eligible to apply to the National Health Service Corps Scholarship Program (NHSC SP). This program will cover full or partial scholarship support for one year in exchange for two years of full-time service. Support received after the initial year will be given in exchange for agreement to provide full-time primary health care services at a NHSC-approved site in HPSA for one year.

What can you expect when you become an NHSC scholar?

  • Service, providing primary care services to communities in need.
  • Financial support for full-time enrollment in an eligible primary care health professions degree training program for up to 4 years of school. This includes payment of tuition and fees, annual educational costs and monthly stipends for living expenses while enrolled in a training program.
  • Loan Reimbursement Eligibility following your service commitment.
