CNYAHEC partners with colleges and rural healthcare providers to support the Rural Healthcare Immersion Program. Rural areas tend to lack widespread and accessible healthcare services in comparison to suburban and urban areas. This program promotes the local community to future healthcare providers.

HealthQuest

HealthQuest is a five-day overnight experience at Ithaca College, where students learn about careers in physical therapy, athletic training, speech language pathology, occupational therapy, and more. HealthQuest is designed for students entering 10th, 11th, and 12th grades in the fall.

M.A.S.H Camp

MASH Camp, or the Medical Academy of Science and Health, is a fun and educational day camp for students to explore health careers. Students are exposed to a variety of health professions, covering everything from on-the-job-training to an advanced college degree.

Campers enjoy two to three days of fun and interaction at a local healthcare facility, where they will:

  • Learn about a variety of health professions as viable career options;
  • Learn about the educational requirements, skills, typical job duties, and personal qualities of successful health professionals and para-professionals; and
  • Participate in interactive, hands-on workshops* that highlight the skills, equipment, technology, and resources used by health professionals.
